Privacy Policy — FreeFuelPrice UK

Effective date: 7 May 2026 Last updated: 7 May 2026

1. Who we are

FreeFuelPrice UK is operated by FreeFuelPriceApp Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the FreeFuelPrice UK app and website, why we collect it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What we collect

2.1 Location data

What: Your device's approximate or precise location (GPS coordinates), collected only while you are actively using the app. Why: To show you the cheapest fuel stations near you, calculate distances, and display relevant map views. When: Only when you open the app or request a nearby-station search. We do not collect location in the background. Format: Co-ordinates are processed in real time to query our station database. We do not store a log of your location history.

2.2 Vehicle registration data

What: The vehicle registration number (number plate) you voluntarily enter for the MOT lookup or "My Vehicles" feature. Why: To query the DVLA vehicle database and DVSA MOT history service on your behalf and return results to you. Stored: If you choose to save a vehicle, the registration is stored locally on your device and (if you create an account) in your account on our servers. We do not share it with third parties beyond DVLA/DVSA for the purpose of the lookup.

2.3 Anonymous usage analytics

What: Aggregated, non-identifiable data about how features are used — for example, which screens are visited, how often a search is performed, and general performance metrics. No unique device identifiers, no name, no email, no precise location. Why: To understand how the app is used and improve it. When planned: A privacy-first anonymous analytics layer is planned for a future release. We will update this policy before it goes live.

2.4 Crash diagnostics

What: Crash reports that include the type of error, device OS version, app version, and a stack trace. These reports do not include your name, email, location, or vehicle registration. Why: To identify and fix bugs. Provider: Sentry (see Section 7). Crash reporting is planned for a future release. We will update this policy before it is enabled.

2.5 Account data (optional)

If you choose to create an account:

Account creation is entirely optional. All core features are available without an account.

2.6 Website cookies and tracking

The FreeFuelPrice UK app itself does not use cookies or web tracking technologies. Our website (freefuelpriceapp.com) may use strictly necessary cookies to operate the contact and waitlist forms. No advertising or profiling cookies are used.
